With so many of the top Girls from Ayrshire entering the 'adult' sections, the first medal of the year had something of the nursery school feel about it! However with the air of professionals the youngsters battled it out at Largs Kelburn - results as follows.
Rachel Irvine, playing over her home course, won the Ayrshire Girls' Spring Medal at Largs Golf Club on Sunday 12th March, but only on the better inward half from Grace Mackie of Troon. 9 girls competed in the 18 hole competition, while 13 pre-handicap girls played 10 holes from forward junior tees.
