Ayrshire Girls played South of Scotland Girls at Stranraer on Sunday 19th in a friendly match at Stranraer G.C. partly to celebrate Golf Awareness Week, and partly to let County officials and selectors see the young talent of the future. Some of the girls were only 11/12 years old, but in spite of a rather daunting gallery of adults, the game, maturity and sportsmanship of the girls was most impressive.
The result was a 3 -3 draw, a superb day on an excellent course, an eye-opener to some local junior boy members, and a much enjoyed meal in the Clubhouse.
